CHEWYCHRISSY A Merlin Christmas
Title | A Merlin Christmas

Pairing | Merlin/Arthur

CHRISTMAS SPECIAL | This is a (late) Christmas special of my ongoing Merlin/Arthur series. Unlike my previous Twilight Christmas special this fits into the timeline of my current story.
Dedication | nicci_mac, it’s a little late I know, but this is your Christmas gift. I hope you and yours had a lovely break, and thank you for all your support and encouragement last year
Ficlet | Feeling guilt over the sex he and Gawain had been having, Merlin took it upon himself to spruce up things between him and Arthur. And so as the days grew short, the nights long and the kingdom overall colder, and when Arthur gave him a night off from his duties (which was so rare an occasion in itself), Merlin decided he’d use the time to create new clothes and set fires throughout the castle to make the time pass brighter, and encourage more intimacy between him and his prince, which Merlin had been craving. And so, using materials from the castle seamstress, of silks of red and green lined with woolly warmness, he made suits for them both. He also decorated the castle with what little greenery had survived the winter chill, that when heated by the fires filled the stale rooms with freshness. He managed to collect sweets too for the prince to enjoy. And Arthur did enjoy them, the material fitting loosely over his naked newly bathed body, tasting the sweets on his tongue. Merlin for his part, excepting a hat, was naked and cold despite the fire. And when after a while, shivering and waiting for Arthur to come and warm him, as he had always done at the sight of the manservant naked, Merlin gave up and left Arthur to his eating, wondering if his prince would even notice he was gone and whether this meant their nights together were over.

Notes | Given how difficult (do I hear not possible?) it would be to make a Merlin Christmas special that had any resemblance to modern Christmas traditions, I decided to have a dual approach to this manip/ficlet. The manip read by itself has all the modern trimmings of Christmas, whereas the ficlet views these elements in more practical, removed terms, while also moving forward the story. I hope you enjoyed it, and thank you to those who followed this series in 2010, lots more to come. This entry was cross-posted to merlinslash and magigasm, which is why it is not friends locked. If you’re visiting from one of these communities and you’d like to see more of my manips, comment on my friends only entry, but be warned, much of my work is sexually explicit.

Popping over here to offer a small beta comment. If it were me, I would add a bit of lens or gaussian blur to the holly wreath to help it setting into the background a bit. At the moment, its as sharp as Merlin, who is very much in the foreground. Only a suggestion mind, totally up to you and it is still bloody brilliant as it is.

Hugs

Thanks so much, and no worries about the lateness, I understand how crazy busy life can get, and don't get me started on technical computer issues, hehe. I feel like I haven't done a Merlin manip in ages *moves that to top of to-do list*.

Might have been just a little late for you but it's definitely a late Christmas special for me but all the same I'll use it to wish you a good christmas this year.

Love both the pics but especially the one of Merlin. Great work and a nice festive touch.

Thanks so much ... I'll hold off my festive wishes for you, as I have a treat on the way ;).
